Chinese exports rocket with positive growth data due by the end of the week
China’s exports have rocketed some 18.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
The export boost has sent a surge of relief through the markets indicating that the world’s second largest economy has not been too severely damaged by the global slowdown.
By the week’s end China will present its growth data for the first quarter.
Estimates suggest that the Chinese economy will expand by 6.8 percent in the three months to March.
Still, economists believe there are still downward pressures plaguing the economy.
